New James Jean Catalog Available

Zugzwang is a catalog of new work exhibited at Hidari Zingaro Gallery in Tokyo, curated by Takashi Murakami. Also included in the volume are exploratory and ancillary works created in the same period, as well as process images.

The special slipcase edition features a custom-engineered cloth case with a magnetic enclosure that opens to reveal a foil-embossed letterpress print within. All books feature a newly-designed bookplate, signed and numbered.

The first printing of Zugzwang will be limited to 2000 copies and the slipcase edition to 250 copies. A very limited three-copy edition features Zugzwang in its cloth-covered slipcase and includes both the foil-embossed letterpress print and an original drawing by James.

In addition, each purchase of Zugzwang gives patrons a chance to win an original drawing by James. Buyers of the first edition will have a chance to win one of three original drawings, while each buyer of the special edition will have a chance to win one original drawing. The winners will be selected at random.
